WhatsApp Introduces Easy Account Linking Feature for Web Version

WhatsApp is set to unveil a new feature that will make accessing the web version of the messaging platform a breeze. In the latest Android beta, users can now link their accounts to the web version using their phone number, eliminating the need to scan a QR code.

Currently, WhatsApp users who want to access the platform on their computer must open the app on their mobile phone and navigate to the Linked devices tab. From there, they can scan the QR code displayed on their PC or laptop screen. However, in the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.23.14.18, users now have the option to link their account with just their phone number.

WABetaInfo, a popular portal tracking WhatsApp updates, has discovered the ‘Link with phone number’ option in the latest beta update. This new feature allows users to bypass the QR code scanning process. Instead, users will be prompted to enter an 8-character code after receiving a notification with the number.

It’s important to note that this functionality is currently only available to beta testers who have downloaded the latest WhatsApp update for Android. However, WABetaInfo suggests that it will also be made available for iOS users in the near future.

WhatsApp continues to innovate and streamline its platform to enhance user experience. This new account linking feature is just one of the many updates rolled out by the popular messaging app in recent times. Stay tuned for more updates on WhatsApp’s latest features and advancements.
