Nokia’s Future in Smartphone Market Uncertain

Will Nokia, the mobile phone powerhouse of the generation, fade out of the smartphone competition? HMD Global, which licenses the Nokia mobile phone brand, has recently made many moves on social media and websites, which seem to point to the future where Nokia may no longer have smartphones and will only retain traditional feature phones.
Foreign media “NokiaMob” discovered that Nokia’s official X (Twitter) quietly changed its name from “@nokiamobile” to “@HMDglobal”, suggesting that the cooperation between the two parties seems to have come to an end. In addition, HMD’s upcoming new website also clearly predicts that in addition to launching its own brand products, there will also be classic Nokia phones. This term seems to imply that it will focus on feature phones rather than smartphones.
In fact, the number of smartphones launched by Nokia has decreased in recent years, with most of them focusing on entry-level products. HMD Global has also turned to self-developed smartphones. Related equipment has been exposed on the website of African new financial company M-Kopa and will not be used. The Nokia brand was replaced by HMD. The future of Nokia in the smartphone market remains uncertain as focus shifts towards feature phones.
