Windows 11 Adds AI to Notepad
In a further expansion of its Copilot series, Microsoft has introduced an AI-powered feature called āCocreatorā to the Notepad app for Windows 11. This move follows the integration of AI in Paint, as the tech giant continues to explore ways to enhance its software with artificial intelligence.
According to Windows Latest, references to the new feature were discovered in Notepadās application suite folder, with files named āCoWriterCreditLimitDialog,ā āCoWriterDropDownButton,ā and āCoWriterWaitlistDialog.ā These files are believed to represent various UI elements and dialog boxes related to the Cocreator feature.
With Cocreator in Notepad, users will have the ability to utilize ChatGPT-4ās features to directly generate unique and original content within the app. The reference to āCreditLimitDialogā suggests that Microsoft may implement a usage quota model, potentially limiting the use of artificial intelligence within Notepad.
While the feature is still in testing, it is expected to roll out to testers in the coming days. This development marks another significant step in Microsoftās integration of AI technology across its range of software applications.
