Chris Gauthier is dead. The actor was known for his roles in the series “Once Upon a Time”, “Eureka – The Secret City”, “Smallville” and “Supernatural”.
Canadian actor Chris Gauthier died last Friday morning at the age of 48. According to his agency TriStar Appearances, the cause of death was a short illness about which nothing more has been known. He leaves behind his wife Erin and two sons.

“When his wife contacted me yesterday with the news, I cried in disbelief for hours,” Chad Colvin wrote on Facebook on behalf of the agency. Chris was literally the textbook definition of a character actor. He always did his best when the camera was rolling, Colvin recalled. “Brother… I will miss you so much, more than you can ever imagine,” he ended his post.
Gauthier was best known for his roles in the series “Once Upon a Time”, “Eureka – The Secret City”, “Smallville” and “Supernatural”. He was also in the films “40 Days and 40 Nights”, among others. “Insomnia – Sleepless” and appeared in the horror film “Freddy vs. Jason”.

Colleagues mourn actor Chris Gauthier
His colleague Colin O’Donoghue from the series “Once Upon a Time” mourned Gauthier on Instagram. “Rest in peace Chris! Heartbroken! My love and thoughts go out to Erin and the boys! We will miss you brother! You were the true captain!,” O’Donoghue wrote.
