The terrorist organization of the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack on the Sikh temple in Kabul, in which a believer was killed and seven others were injured. The claim was posted on the Amaq website, where it is claimed that the attack “on the Sikh and Hindu temple” was a response to alleged insults to the Prophet Muhammad by an Indian government official.

According to the claim, a member of the group identified as Abu Mohammed al-Tajiki stormed the temple, killing a security guard and then hitting people inside with a machine gun and hand grenades. Outside the temple, he says, other extremist fighters detonated four explosive devices and a car bomb, to hit the Taliban patrols who were trying to protect the religious building. Amaq reported that the confrontation lasted three hours.
