Akira Toriyama, the creator of DragonBall, has left us.

He was the creator of one of the best-selling manga in history: DragonBall. Unfortunately, its author, Akira Toriyama, passed away at the age of 68 due to an acute subdural hematoma. The death dates back to March 1st but the news was only released the other day.

Multifaceted author, born on 5 April 1955 in Nagoya, he has created numerous works that have managed to conquer millions of readers not only in Japan but in the rest of the world, we remember “Doctor Slamp and Arale” and “Cowa”.

Without a doubt, the title that consecrated him in the Olympus of the most famous Mangaka was DragonBall, a work which also in Italy, arriving at the end of the 90s, was an important watershed for the diffusion of manga reading, definitively entering in culture and society.

Its release was the first edition of a Japanese product that was read in the Japanese way: from right to left and starting from the back of the issue.

His unmistakable style, elegant and clean, mixed humor and action in the narrative, involving the reader in spectacular and fantastic worlds.

In his career he was also the Character Designer of some video games such as “Dragon Quest”, “Blue Dragon” and logically the entire DragonBall saga.

An author who made us dream and unfortunately there is no Dragon Sharon who can make him come back. Have a good trip Master.
