Alianza Lima became champion of the 2023/24 National Volleyball League, winning against Universidad San Martín in an exciting definition of the title. The ‘blue and white’ cast won the ‘extra game’ this Sunday, April 28, and celebrated effusively with all the fans who were present at the Villa El Salvador Sports Center.

After the ‘holy’ team had won the first duel of the definition (3-2), the team led by Rafael Petry did not give up at any time and managed to force a third match, after winning 3-0 in the second. The rest is history.

Alianza Lima was quite firm throughout the ‘extra game’ and got a more than positive result: it won 3-1 against San Martín (25-20, 23-25, 25-18 and 25-23) with the French Maeva Orlé as the great figure. In fact, she was chosen the MVP of the final and it is no wonder. Everything she touched was period.

After that, the La Victoria team once again won a title in the National Volleyball League after 31 years. The last time that the ‘blue and white’ had been consecrated was in 1993, when the championship was called the National Superior Volleyball Division (Disunvol). For its part, San Martín had to settle for second place: its last championship was in 2019.
