Dozens of Bodø/Glimt supporters turned up at Bodø Airport to pay tribute to top scorer Amahl Pellegrino on Sunday evening.
In a video Nordland newspaper has published thanks to one of the Eliteserien’s biggest profiles for him in the city in front of the aforementioned supporters.
The 33-year-old from Drammen is by all accounts continuing his career in the USA for the Major League Soccer team San Jose Earthquakes.

– I just want to say that I appreciate you all so much. And it is very hard to leave this city. Thank you for everything. But thank you very much for this, and you will be a part of me for the rest of my life. I love you all and wish you all the best, said Pellegrino to the Glimt supporters in attendance.
– I will follow this club for the rest of my life, and I just want to say a thousand heartfelt thanks for the way you have welcomed me and my family, continued the superb top scorer of the last two seasons in the Eliteserien.

In front of Avisa Nordland, Pellegrino confirms that he was surprised by the supporters’ tribute.
– I’ve felt important in that town here, but I didn’t think I mattered that much, he added with blank eyes.
Pellegrino rounded off his period as a Bodø/Glimt player with 24 goals and 14 assists in last year’s fantastic elite series season with the champion team from the north.

In total, there were 55 goals in 71 games in the Eliteserien at Pellegrino for Glimt after the transfer from Saudi Arabian Damac in August 2021.
The 33-year-old scored a further 21 times for Bodø/Glimt in Norwegian cup contexts and various European cups.
