The Amazônia Jazz Band (AJB) successfully held its fourth concert of the “Projeto Sons da Paz” at UsiPaz Cabanagem, last Saturday night (06), at 7pm. This event is part of a permanent culture policy that reaffirms the commitment of the Government of Pará to the democratization of access to culture, in addition to promoting the circulation of Artistic Corps of Theatro da Paz, bringing the public even closer to music and encouraging future generations in a positive way.

As musical notes floated through the air, 36-year-old Gislene Fróz experienced a special moment as she took her children to witness the splendor of AJB for the first time. At the end of the concert, Gislene could not contain her emotion, her words echoed as a fervent testimony to the power of music.

“I never imagined that such a happy and lively concert could move me and my children so much. It was a truly moving experience. Seeing my children absorbing every note, every rhythm of AJB, was like witnessing the magic of music in its purest form “, shared Gislene with her eyes still teary with emotion.

As she expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to share this experience with her family, Gislene reflected on the impact this night would have on their lives. “It’s more than just music,” she continued, “it’s a deep connection that unites us, inspires us, and takes us to places within ourselves that we may never have explored before.”

The “O Som do Brasil” concert not only enchanted the audience with the incredible performance of the Amazônia Jazz Band (AJB), but also offered a sonic journey through the diverse rhythms and melodies that make up the rich Brazilian musical tapestry. Under the direction of maestro Elias Coutinho, AJB took the public to explore everything from the ancestral sounds of indigenous culture to the contemporary beats of urban streets.

“Esse Rio É Minha Rua”, another composition by Paulo André and Ruy Barata, reinvented by arranger Rafael Rocha, captured the vibrant essence of the streets of Pará, inviting spectators to get lost in the stories and sounds of the cities.

But the musical journey didn’t stop there. With “Brooklyn High” by Nelson Faria, AJB explored the horizons of modernity, fusing elements of contemporary jazz with the vivacity of Brazilian music, creating an innovative and stimulating sound environment.

And finally, in a vibrant medley entitled “Cumbia, Merengue e Etc…”, AJB presented the audience with a captivating mix of Latin American and Brazilian rhythms, including excerpts from classics such as “Chorando Se Foi” by Banda Kaoma and “Without You Nothing Is Beautiful” by Pinduca, among others. This fusion of styles brought to light the richness of Brazilian musical diversity and its connection with neighboring cultures.
