Andreas Brehmescorer of the penalty goal for the title Germanyalready world Cup 1990, against Argentina, died this Tuesday (20), aged 63, in Munich. The star’s death was announced by his family. The former athlete suffered a cardiac arrest and was rescued, but did not survive.
Tributes and condolences poured in from clubs across the Bundesliga and other European leagues. “A magnificent player, a great Inter fan. Ciao Andy, a legend forever”, published the account of Inter Milana club in which he won a Italian Championship and an edition of UEFA Cup on the social networks.

Brehme also played for Bayern Munchenwhere he won an edition of the German Championshipand by Royal Zaragozaamong others, before retiring in 1998, after returning to Kaiserslautern and win the Bundesliga title.
“FCK mourns the death of Andreas Brehme”, disse o Kaiserslautern. “He wore the Red Devils shirt for a total of 10 years and became German champion and German Cup winner with FCK”.
“In 1990, Brehme led the German team to the World Cup title with his penalty and became a football legend. The FCK family is in deep mourning and our thoughts are with Andi’s family and friends”.
Brehme won 86 caps for Germany, scoring eight goals, including in the 1990 World Cup final against Argentina.
“Andreas Brehme will forever be in our hearts, as a World Cup winner and, most importantly, as a very special person. He will always be part of the Bayern family”, said Bayern Munich.
