Andrew Tate can be extradited to the UK after the legal process in Romania is over – Dagsavisen

Influenza Andrew Tate is released in Romania after his arrest on Monday evening. The Court has also approved the extradition request from Great Britain.

However, Tate cannot be extradited until the trial against him in Romania is over, according to the ruling reported by the Reuters news agency on Tuesday afternoon.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested on Monday evening and were handed a European Arrest Warrant issued by the British authorities, Tate’s PR contact stated on Tuesday morning. According to the PR contact, the case concerns allegations of sexual aggression dating back to 2012-2015, which the Tate brothers deny.

Lawyers for four British women, who have accused Tate of rape and serious physical and sexual abuse, say the arrest warrant follows warnings from them that Tate was planning to escape from Romania.

More British investigations

The allegations made by the four women were investigated by Hertfordshire police, who closed the investigation in 2019. The recent arrest warrant is to be linked to offenses being investigated by Bedfordshire police, writes the news agency DPA.

– As far as we know, this investigation was closed, we do not know if it has been reopened, if the authorities have any new evidence, Tate’s lawyer Eugen Vidineac told the press at the court in Bucharest on Tuesday.

– Sloppy

In the court hearing in Bucharest on Tuesday, Andrew Tate dismissed the charges in Britain as “sloppy” and “over ten years old”. He said that he and his brother do not want to be extradited and that they want to finish the trial in Romania first.

The two brothers were indicted in Romania in June last year for human trafficking, rape and for having entered into a criminal association to exploit women sexually. They deny the charges.
