Arne Brimi (66) is known to many as a chef, cookbook author, and TV profile, and was, among other things, for many years seen in the TV series “Gutta på tur” on TV 2.
Now the celebrity chef has been exposed to fraud attempts on social media, which the 66-year-old takes very seriously.

The fraudsters have created several fake profiles pretending to be Brimi on Facebook, among others, where they obtain private information such as bank card details through fake competitions.
– I think that I have some credibility among the people, and I don’t think that many people think that I do this sort of thing. That is very different from what I stand for. So I have considered reporting if it can help, Brimi tells Nettavisen.
Warning on Instagram
The 66-year-old frequently shares photos and videos from his life on social media with a strong focus on culinary experiences, and now the chef has felt compelled to warn his followers on Instagram against the fake profiles.

“Warning. Arne is exposed to attempted fraud in his name. There are a lot of fake profiles pretending to be Arne. Do not click on links and do not leave information,” writes Brimi in an Instagram post.
– There is always someone who will defraud someone, and it is sad that it has to be like this. So it is important to notify people that this is not me, says Brimi.
A number of celebrities have recently been singled out for attempted fraud in social media. Including Carina Dahl, who recently chose to report the fake profiles.
Not sure what they get out of the review
Brimi is aware that there are several fake profiles out there, but how many are rampant out there has not yet been determined. The 66-year-old did not find out that fake profiles existed until Tuesday morning, after his daughter called and told him.
– I don’t have an overview of how many profiles there are out there. It’s only been an hour since I found out myself, so we’re working on the case, says Brimi.

Torstein Bjørgen (24) works closely with Brimi when it comes to the content posted on the 66-year-old’s social media. He confirms that they have considered a report regarding the fake profiles.
– We are unsure what we will get out of a review, but it is certainly something we have considered. What is important to get across is that Arne would never ask for payment information from his followers, and that the people are aware that these are fake profiles with Arne’s name and picture, Bjørgen tells Nettavisen.
