Athletes from the Brazilian team present themselves for friendlies against England and Spain

The players called up by coach Dorival Júnior to represent the Brazilian team in friendlies in Europe showed up at the hotel, located on the outskirts of London. The arrival of the athletes began last Sunday night, with Lucas Paquetá, Douglas Luiz and Andreas Pereira, and the others arrived little by little during the morning of this Monday.

Coach Dorival Júnior disembarked early this Monday morning and asked Brazilian fans for patience and trust at the beginning of the work. On Saturday, the 61-year-old coach will debut in charge of the Brazilian team in the match against England, at Wembley. Three days later, Brazil faces Spain, at the Santiago Bernabéu, in Madrid.

— (The message to the fans) is to have a little patience, to believe, to trust. We prepared a lot for a moment like this. I’m sure good things will happen ahead. It is natural that we will go through a process until we find a better way to achieve the best results — said coach Dorival Júnior to CBF TV.

Who also couldn’t hide his happiness at being able to represent the Brazilian team once again was Real Madrid striker Vinicius Júnior. The player said that he has “high expectations” to face the two opponents and that they need big games to prepare for the Copa América.

— Happy to be here once again. The emotion is as if it were the first time and we are increasingly prepared for our goal, which is the Copa América. For that, we need to prepare with big games. It’s always good to play against the best. This is where we can show our strength — said Vini Jr.

The Brazilian team arrives for the friendlies in one of its worst moments in the history of Brazilian football. The team has lost three consecutive games — which hasn’t happened in more than 20 years —, hasn’t won in four games and is sixth in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
