Bad transfer glitch gets a happy ending!
Said Benrahma’s move to Olympique Lyon initially failed at the last second. The French are mad at West Ham United – but there is a happy ending!
The rude awakening on Deadline Day is followed by a late happy ending! Said Benrahma’s move from West Ham United to Olympique Lyon failed in the last few meters – and then went through quite late.

As Lyon announced on Friday evening, Benrahma is moving to France on loan. FIFA and the English Football Association officially approved the deal.
There had previously been a lot of trouble: the French had accused the Londoners of not submitting the documents necessary for the 28-year-old’s transfer to the world football association FIFA in time. There was even talk of legal action in order to be able to “hold West Ham accountable” if necessary.
They said they “deeply regret the failure of Said Benrahma’s transfer” and “question West Ham’s behavior”.

Benrahma already in Lyon
“Olympique Lyonnais was delighted to welcome Said Benrahma to Lyon this Thursday to complete his transfer from West Ham. “The two clubs had signed a temporary transfer agreement and Olympique Lyonnais had received approval from the DNCG (French Financial Authority, editor’s note) to make the transfer possible,” Lyon said in a statement.
It initially remained unclear why the Hammers could not send the documents in time. There is now talk of “computer problems” in the French media.
Benrahma was in Lyon on Thursday to finalize the deal. But the attacker had to return to the island without having achieved anything. Now it’s back, a true happy ending!
