O Bahia confirmed favoritism and advanced in Brazil’s Cup. This Wednesday (22), Tricolor de Aço defeated Moto Club, from Maranhão, 4-0, at the Nhozinho Santos stadium, in São Luís, Maranhão.
Estupiñán, Jean Lucas, Cauly and Rafael Ratão scored the goals for the victorious team. Bahia managed to dominate the match and suffered very little throughout the 90 minutes. Tricolor de Aço made the best squad count and is classified for the next phase of the competition.
Bahia will only know its next opponent next Wednesday (28). The team will face whoever passes the duel between Portuguesa Santista and Caxias-RS.
Bahia’s next game will be next Sunday (25), at 4pm (Brasília time), against Juazeirense, in the eighth round of the Bahia Championship. The next phase of the Copa do Brasil does not yet have a defined date, but its base date is March 6th and 13th.
The game
Bahia opened the scoring with Estupiñán, from the penalty spot, in the 41st minute of the first half. At the beginning of the second half, the Bahian team scored a rout.
Jean Lucas expanded with a firm shot in the sixth minute of the second half. In the 10th minute, Cauly received the ball at the edge of the area, dribbled past two defenders and touched the goalkeeper’s path.
From then on, the team controlled the game. Without conceding, Bahia remained in the lead of the match. In the 47th minute, Rafael Ratão received a pass from Biel and hit a cross to give the final numbers to the match.
