In celebration of its 65th anniversary, Barbie announces a tribute to nine women who broke barriers and are sources of inspiration for future generations, with the aim of reminding girls that they can be whatever they want, highlighting their innate ability to tell stories.
In Brazil, the content creator Maira Gomez She was chosen for the select group of the Inspiring Women (Role Models) project, being presented with a unique doll made in her likeness. Known on social media as Cunhaporanga, Maira has almost 486 thousand followers on Instagram and 6.6 million followers on Tik Tok sharing her routine in the Tatuyo indigenous tribe.

In addition to Maira, the other honorees are: director, producer and screenwriter Lila Avilés (Mexico); actress, activist and philanthropist Viola Davis (United States); actress Helen Mirren (United Kingdom); singer-songwriter Shania Twain (Canada); superstar Kylie Minogue (Australia); model Nicole Fujita (Japan); and comedian and activist Enissa Amani (Germany).

For Maira Gomez, “being recognized as an inspiring woman is an incredible opportunity and a reminder that we can achieve everything we want and can be”, she comments. “Barbie is creative, fashionista and this fashionista streak is something I strive for. You can see that I also bring this to my clothes, to my paintings, we have our style. So I want to use this platform and also be creative and inspire being who I am.”, concludes the content creator.
