Filipa Patão remembers Benfica’s European journey
“We worked for this moment, we believed it was possible with the working group we have and with the project that Benfica has. This would be a reality sooner or later. This is what we have been fighting for every year in the Champions League and in the Portuguese league, which is what allowed them to get here. We have been showing an increase in performance over the years, with achievements in the European part, but this is just the journey and not the end”, said coach Filipa Patão.
“It’s Benfica’s most important game right now, but after this goal we will have more. That’s what sets us apart: we don’t set limits. Wanting to go first of all to a Champions League group stage, it was unprecedented and historic, but we wanted more and now we are close to the quarter finals. Whenever we think it is the game of our life, tomorrow we will have another and the day after tomorrow another. It is this thought that the team has had over the years and that has made us grow”, he highlighted .
