NOVE MESTO (Dagbladet): With a burning commitment to biathlon and an impressive track record, Ole Einar Bjørndalen came in as an expert for TV 2 back in 2018.
With his knowledge, experience and hard-hitting comments down on the stand, he has delighted many TV viewers.
During the sprint in the WC – which Sturla Holm Lægreid won – the commitment became a little too great, according to the race director.

Bjørndalen explains:
– We didn’t broadcast live the first week, but I still had the opportunity to be quite close. I first saw the shooting of Johannes (Thingnes Bø), which was completely raw. But then Sturla came, says Bjørndalen to Dagbladet.
– I didn’t think he would have a chance in a sprint, but then he shoots zero and goes like oiled lightning. Then there was a small sound from Bjørndalen on the stand – out of control. It was a little too high, but no one was embarrassed by it, he continues.
Next to him was race director Borat Nunar, whom the TV 2 expert knows well from his time as an active biathlete.
– He grabbed me: “A little warning there”. I understand that very well, laughs the former biathlon king.
TV 2 mentioned the matter first.

Bjørndalen holds the record for the most WC gold – 20 in the number. That record stands to fall. If Johannes Thingnes Bø wins gold in both Saturday’s relay and Sunday’s joint start, the record is in the hands of the Norwegian.
– They deliver as expected. The sprint was completely beyond, the start of the chase was good. And the two guys in particular (Thingnes Bø and Tarjei Bø) are good at normal, he says.
sorry
Ahead of Saturday’s relay, the Norwegian boys are huge favourites. In the World Cup, they have won all the relays this season, but last year’s WC relay ended with silver behind France.
– That is our main goal for the season. For us coaches, the relay is the biggest thing we can win. It won silver last year, so it is undoubtedly ready for revenge, says national team coach Siegfried Mazet.
