Biden holds first-year anniversary news conference, rejects apology for U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan

“After 20 years in Afghanistan, it is unlikely that we will withdraw troops from Afghanistan easily. I will not apologize for what I have done,” he reportedly told a news conference. He also said, “There are various All kinds of problems, we can’t solve all of them. So I don’t think it’s a capacity issue.”
In August 2021, chaos continued during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. A series of explosions in Kabul killed dozens of Afghan civilians and 13 U.S. troops.
The US media commented that the departure of the United States marked the exit of the longest war in the United States in an anxious, chaotic and bloody manner.
The study also showed that the 20-year war in Afghanistan killed about 100,000 Afghan soldiers and civilians.
