FROM ‘GOOD LUCK, CHARLIE!’

The protagonist of Good Luck Charlie!, one of the most successful Disney Channel productions of the 2010s, has radically changed her career and seeks to improve data transfer systems between Earth and space.

Bridgit Mendler, known for playing the character Teddy Duncan in the Disney Channel series Good Luck Charlie!, has made a 180-degree turn in her professional career after her time at the Dream Factory.

Very popular during the 2010s for participating in other productions such as Lemonade Mouth or Wizards of Waverly Place, Mendler has surprised the world thanks to his latest professional adventure.

As he revealed in his X profile, his company Northwood Space has just received more than $6 million in financing to develop a project that aims to revolutionize data transfer between Earth and space.

“A data highway between Earth and space,” reads the official website of Northwood Space, which will use the money to build “shared ground infrastructure from the first steps to expand access to space.”

This infrastructure is, in reality, powerful antennas that establish a connection with the satellites orbiting the Earth. “Space is getting easier in many different dimensions, but the actual exercise of sending data to and from space remains difficult,” Mendler explained in an interview for the CNBC channel.

Classes at MIT and Harvard

At the end of her television career, Bridgit Claire Mendler, the entrepreneur’s full name, has dedicated herself to studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Law School.

A training that has allowed her to found Northwood Space with her husband, Griffin Cleverly, as technology director and Shaura Luthra as software director.

Mendler has not been shy about commenting on how the idea for this innovative project came about. During the pandemic, the businesswoman found the ideal space in the homonymous lake in New Hampshire to delve into an idea that she was born with by building “antennas with random trash that we could find at Home Depot.”

We will have to remain attentive to the space race of the former Disney girl, who shows that she has plenty of talent in every sector she touches.
