Promenade Review – Gamereactor

Platformer game “Promenade” offers a fun and challenging journey through a child’s imagination

Platformer games may not be the most popular genre today, but they have stood the test of time by capturing the spirit of gaming in its purest form. An early build of Holy Cap’s “Promenade” was previewed at the last Gamescom and has become a favorite game for many. The game takes players on a fantastic journey with the protagonist Nemo and his companion, a small pink octopus, as they navigate through vibrant and imaginative landscapes.

“Promenade” is a 2D side-scrolling platformer that requires players to ascend the Grand Elevator by collecting fragments to repair platforms and navigate through Nemo’s memories. The game includes a variety of challenges, including perspective puzzles, memory puzzles, and time trial challenges. Players can reach checkpoints and cannot die, allowing for a peaceful gaming experience.

While the game offers a light-hearted adventure, some players have noticed issues with the response time and precision of in-game actions. The lack of an overarching map can also make it easy for players to get lost in certain situations. Despite these criticisms, “Promenade” still offers a solid and engaging platformer experience.

“Promenade” is set to launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch on February 23, 2024. If you’re a fan of platformers and enjoy extra puzzles in your games, “Promenade” is one to keep an eye on.
