BUMP OF CHICKEN, who held the final tour of “BUMP OF CHICKEN TOUR Homesick Satellite 2024” at Tokyo Ariake Arena on April 25th, announced that they will release their 10th album “Iris” on September 4th.
This is the first time in about five years that BUMP OF CHICKEN has released an album since “Aurora Arc” was released in July 2019. This new album includes the theme song “Acacia” for “Pokémon Special Music Video “GOTCHA!””, the theme song “Nanairo” for the NHK TV drama series “Okaeri Mone”, and the theme song for the movie “Detective Conan: Halloween Bride”. Chronostasis”, TV anime “SPY×FAMILY” season 1 opening theme song “SOUVENIR”, NHK “18 Festival” theme song “Madado no Nakakara”, movie “Onmyoji 0” theme song Contains songs such as “Encounter”. Other songs will be announced at a later date. This work is available in two formats: a first limited edition that comes with a Blu-ray, and a regular edition that only includes a CD. The pattern can be stored.

In addition, ahead of the album release, the music video for “Encounter”, a song included in the album, was released. The direction for this work is by Kyotaro Hayashi, a close friend of BUMP OF CHICKEN who has worked on many of BUMP OF CHICKEN’s music videos in recent years, such as “Nanairo,” “Chronostasis,” and “From the Window.”
In this music video, which was shot entirely on location outside the film, you can see the lyrical appearance of the four members standing on the surface of the water and performing. Furthermore, in the second half of the music video, the countless dancers dancing in the air and the dancers wrapped in white costumes overlap, and the way the four members embody the worldview of the song is truly spectacular. The music video has an oriental and mysterious beauty that somehow reminds you of a prayer.

Furthermore, it was announced that a dome tour to support the album release, “BUMP OF CHICKEN TOUR 2024 Sperry Rendezvous,” will be held. The tour will include a total of 7 performances in 4 cities, starting from Belluna Dome in Saitama on September 7th to Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka on October 27th.
