The Banyuasin Regency Government conducted a poll which was distributed via related WhatsApp messages Bung Karno statue which had been protested. As a result, 70 percent of respondents said they were similar.
As is known, the construction of the statue caused polemic because the shape of the face was deemed to be dissimilar. However, in the end the statue was repaired again and the work has now been completed.
“Thank God, there is good news from the statue of Bung Karno which was built in Banyuasin. After the PPK, which carried out the work to build the statue, distributed a poll, the results of which were 70% of the people who said it was similar,” said the Head of the Banyuasin PUTR Service, Apriansyah, as reported by detikSumbagsel, Monday (22/4/ 2024).

He explained that the poll distributed by the Banyuasin Regency Government contained the message ‘Is the statue of Ir Soekarno at the Bung Karno Sport Center (BKSC) Pangkalan balai, Banyuasin Regency similar?’, in the message there were three answer choices not similar, somewhat similar, already similar. The results were that 70% of people said they were similar.
Apriansyah explained that 70% of people said it was similar out of the 727 sent and 509 votes said it was similar and 140 votes said it was not similar, then 78 votes said it was somewhat similar.
“From the results of the poll, we stated that the work on the statue was complete and was similar. The PPK who carried out work on the Bung Karno statue will be paid immediately,” he said.
