Businessman Jean-Yves Le Fur, invested in the world of media, died of “illness” at the age of 59 on Sunday morning at the American hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Hauts-de -Seine), AFP learned on Tuesday February 2 from the entourage of his ex-wife, the actress and director Maïwenn.
“Jean-Yves Le Fur, the love of my life, the father of my son Diego, the father-in-law of my daughter Shanna, left on Sunday morning in my arms and those of our son (…) We are all devastated,” Maïwenn had posted a little earlier on Instagram.
Engaged to Stéphanie of Monaco
Jean-Yves Le Fur successfully launched two magazines at the end of the 90s, the women’s magazine “DS” and “Numéro”. With the writer Frédéric Beigbeder, in 2013 he re-released “Lui”, a legendary men’s magazine from the 1970s. The businessman had also been director of a modeling agency and producer of shows on top models, including Claudia Schiffer for TF1 in 1995.
Well known in the world of fashion and celebrities, Jean-Yves Le Fur sometimes appeared in the newspapers himself: he was briefly engaged to Stéphanie of Monaco in April 1990.
