Canada approves vaccines for children aged 12 to 15, it is the first country in the world

Canada is the first country in the world to authorize the use of Pfizer / Biontech’s Covid vaccine for children aged 12 to 15. The announcement was made by the local Ministry of Health. The decision, the release explains, is based on phase 3 clinical trials on subjects of that age. The vaccine, explained an advisor to the Ministry, “is considered safe and effective when used in this younger group”.

Canada has decided to resort to vaccination of the youngest not so much for the risk of getting sick, but to prevent them from being sources of contagion for those most at risk, and at the same time to be able to keep schools open without increasing cases.
