– Of all places, Marc Schneider’s Vaduz stops FC Thun’s run
The Oberlanders, who have been so convincing so far this season, are irritating the Liechtenstein team with a completely inadequate performance.

The list of the worst Challenge League games may be quite long. But there is definitely still room for Vaduz – Thun.
13 minutes (!) are added together in the Rheinpark: 4 in the first half, ultimately 9 in the second half. For the taste of the neutral viewer, that’s 13 too many. Because the encounter doesn’t entertain you at all. The terrain is deep, the temperatures are low and, above all, the level is low.
The event is characterized by bad passes and an extraordinary number of interruptions, some of which last excruciatingly long. Benjamin Büchel, the FC Vaduz goalkeeper, sets what feels like new standards when it comes to playing time.

The Easter Monday afternoon in the Principality was disappointing, and not just for those who like good football. But a little more for the fans of FC Thun. Her team has spoiled her very often this season with good, sometimes formidable performances. But the guest appearance in the Ländle: It fails across the board.
The Bernese Oberlanders fell behind early on. After Captain Marco Bürki committed a handball in the penalty area, the home team received a penalty, Fabrizio Cavegn scored in the 5th minute. Mauro Lustrinelli’s team reacted immediately and temporarily dominated. A short time later, Daniel Dos Santos hit the crossbar from 15 meters instead of into the goal.
This turned out to be by far the best phase for the FC Sion pursuer.
Memories of the descent
The guests lose 1-0, perhaps their worst performance of the season, even though they lost 4-0 twice to Xamax. And it must feel bitter for her when her run is stopped by, of all people, Marc Schneider’s team.
The Bernese coached the Oberlanders, for whom he played as an active player, for three years. Under him they were unable to stay in class in 2020 and were relegated to the Challenge League – in the barrage against… FC Vaduz.
Marc Schneider looks skeptical, but can cheer in the end.

After the start of the new season failed, Schneider resigned. He continued his career in Belgium and in the 2nd Bundesliga, but was recently without a club for quite a long time. At Liechtenstein, his job is to stabilize a team that is undervalued – which he does quite well.
Thun and the question: What was that?
Thun’s defeat doesn’t come with an announcement. Before the international break they surprised with another coup in Sion; In doing so, they reduced the gap to the leader to two points. Dos Santos and Valmir Matoshi were recently in the starting line-up for the U-21 national team – while Vaduz tested against the struggling Super League clubs Basel and GC and lost 0:3 and 2:5.
In the Ländle, the Bernese lack creativity and precision in the passing game. They don’t really pose a threat in the final phase, although they can play in the majority after Sandro Wieser was sent off (75′).
Marc Gutbub, the discovery of the season so far, is having a wasted day. Pretty much every action fails him. Like the whole team actually.
