On Tuesday evening, April 30, 2024, shortly after 9:30 p.m., the Bern cantonal police were reported that a serious accident had occurred in the municipality of Köniz. According to initial findings, a child was trapped by an agricultural vehicle and was seriously injured. Despite immediate rescue measures, the child succumbed to his serious injuries in hospital a short time later.
Several patrols and special services from the Bern cantonal police were deployed.
Further investigations into the events are underway under the direction of the Bern-Mittelland regional public prosecutor’s office.
