After a lot of rain in the early hours and this Friday morning (16), Recife residents should stay alert.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) released the forecast for the rest of this Friday and for the weekend, when isolated rain and thunderstorms may occur.

The forecast indicates cloudy weather for Friday afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms are forecast at night.

On Saturday (17), according to Inmet, Recife will have cloudy skies and isolated rain showers in the morning.

In the afternoon, thunderstorms and isolated rain may occur. The same forecast for Saturday night.

On Sunday (18), the forecast is for cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

Balance

This Friday, several disruptions were recorded in the state due to the rains. There were tree collapses, the roof of a house falling, power outages, flooded streets and avenues, people left homeless and classes suspended.

Jaboatão

In Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Civil Defense recorded the displacement of two people.

There were also floods, a collapsed roof of a residence and material damage in Barra de Jangada

In Zumbi do Pacheco, flooding resulted in material damage to a residence, in addition to the displacement of an elderly woman. In Vila Rica, a tree was recorded at risk of falling.

The Civil Defense of Jaboatão reported in a statement that it maintains a State of Alert.

“Technical teams are mobilized to provide assistance to affected families and ensure the safety of the population.”

The Executive Secretariat for Urban Services of Jaboatão recorded the fall of four trees, three large and one small, in the neighborhoods of Curado III, Prazeres, Cajueiro Seco and Piedade.

Cutting and collection operations have already been completed to ensure the safety of the community.

Recife

In Recife, morning classes at municipal schools were suspended.

The information is from the Operations Center (COP).

The decision was taken due to the accumulation of rain and the forecast for its continuation.

Afternoon classes would be reevaluated throughout the morning.

Also according to the COP, it is recommended that non-essential services be carried out remotely.

A carnival structure partially collapsed on Avenida Martins de Barros, in the center of Recife.

From 0:00 to 06:30, 12 calls were registered at Recife’s Civil Defense, including requests for tarpaulins and inspections, which were not serious. There was also a call for six demands for partial felling of trees.

“The city is in the Attention Stage, where some situations are already altering the routine of citizens, but without any notable occurrence.”

Olinda

In Olinda, porticos and carnival 2024 floats that had not yet been removed fell, disrupting traffic.
