In search of a replacement for Mano Menezes, fired earlier this week, Corinthians internally evaluated, discussed and approved the name of Portuguese António Oliveira, from Cuiabá, in the last few hours. Talks are progressing positively towards a contract for one season (until December 2024).

António has a valid contract with the Mato Grosso club until December 2024 and, therefore, Timão now needs to negotiate the payment of his termination fine. However, the value is considered low and should not be an obstacle: R$1.1 million.

Cuiabá has already become aware of Corinthians interest and is awaiting negotiations to progress. Meanwhile, the ball market has already started to look for a professional to replace any loss.
