Galo’s debut in Series B wasn’t the best. CRB lost 2-1 to Novorizontino, scoring in the last minute of the game on Friday night (19). Regatas opened the scoring in the first half with a beautiful shot from Gegê. In the final stage, the São Paulo team scored with a header from César Martins and Lucca in the 50th minute. Now the teams change goals. CRB is committed to Bahia in the Copa do Nordeste next Wednesday. Novorizontino only plays on April 27th away from home against América-MG.
In Series B, Galo’s next challenge will be against Amazonas, in the 2nd round, also on the 27th (Saturday), at 5pm, at Estádio Rei Pelé.
THE GAME
Rooster started going up. Gegê opened the scoring 13 minutes into the first half. The number 8 dominated the ball inside the area and finished with his left leg. She even deflected it into the opponent’s defense before dying in the back of Jordi’s net.
Tigre needed to expose himself more and tried, but without aim. Galo arrived three times in a row, two of which ended up on the goalkeeper, from Léo Pereira and Gustavo Henrique, and another on a ball that passed into the area with no one to deflect it.
Novorizontino changed and added another attacker in the first half to be more offensive. But his best chance came with a shot from outside the area, at 37. Reverson shot hard, from distance, and Matheus Albino made a great save. Furthermore, the CRB defended itself well and avoided any major scares.
Novorizontino tied at 29 in the second half, with César Martins. After Raul Prata’s cross from the right, the defender rose above everyone and headed the ball into the back of the net.
CRB made changes and tried to gain new offensive momentum, but did not regain control of the game. In fact, he was more disorganized in midfield, giving space for the opponent to arrive.
In the 50th minute of the second half, Lucca took advantage of Paulo Vitor’s cross to score Novorizontino’s winning goal with a header. The ball even hit the crossbar before entering.
