Dani Alves’ trial began: victim of the case confirmed that she was raped | Football curiosities

The trial of former soccer player Dani Alves for having raped a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub began this Monday and witnesses have already begun to give their statements on the subject.

During the day on February 5, the young woman who accuses the Brazilian appeared and confirmed that she was raped in a statement lasting more than an hour that was closed and with extreme protection measures.

The victim maintained her story told in the Barcelona Court where she stated that Alves sexually assaulted her, with violence and a contemptuous attitude, after entering a bathroom at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona.

The young woman testified next to section 21 of the Barcelona Court where the player sits, but is protected by a screen to avoid visual confrontation with him, with her voice distorted and was accompanied by the Mossos d’Esquadra.

On the other hand, the footballer’s lawyer has asked the Court to annul the charges of sexual assault given that his rights have been violated because he was investigated for a month without his knowledge and has endured the judgment of public opinion at the same time.

The lawyer says that the case has violated Alves’s presumption of innocence through a savage media campaign to present him as a sexual offender and that he is guilty of what happened.
