Dear Mom, Love Cher
It stands for Las Vegas glamor and serious filmmaking, for great authenticity despite plastic corrections. Cher is a stand-up woman who has continually reinvented herself. In addition to her breathtaking film and music career, she is one thing above all: a strong family man. Her tweets provide eloquent evidence of how close she was to her mother, Georgia Holt. Holt was not only a miracle of strength, but, like her daughter, also a vocal miracle. Until the end, she had the strong stature of a woman decades younger. Georgia Holt has had six turbulent marriages and often struggled through life alone with her two daughters. In this documentary, Cher, as executive producer of her mother, spreads roses – a film about resistance to convention and the courage to stand up for yourself.
