Deportivo Cali added its fourth victory in the Betplay 2024-I League after beating Deportivo Pasto as a visitor. The only goal of the game was from Juan José Córdoba at the beginning of the game.
At the start of the game, Cali quickly scored the winning goal with a great goal from Juan José Córdoba who received the ball after a bad rejection and took a bomb from the corner that left goalkeeper Diego Martínez still.
Half an hour later, Pasto would have his first big chance. Santiago Tréllez gave the ball to José Bernal who took a shot from the edge of the area that went straight into the hands of Alejandro Rodríguez.
A few moments later, Córdoba almost scored his double with a shot practically identical to his goal, but this time the ball went way over the top.
Already in the second half, the first clear action came at 60′ with Pasto. Tréllez took a hasty shot after a series of rebounds, but the shot went straight to Rodríguez who finished in two halves.
At 75′, the ‘Volcánicos’ came close again this time with Johan Campaña who, after an association between two of his teammates, grabbed the ball and inside the area took a shot that barely went outside the green and white goal.
Three minutes after this action, the visitor responded with Lautaro Villegas who grabbed the ball from outside the area and took a shot that barely touched the far post for goalkeeper Martínez.
At 88′, Pasto almost tied it with Tréllez who received a pass inside the area and there the forward beat his mark and took a header that barely went over the top. In addition, Kevin Rendón tried to equalize from a free kick, but in the end the three points went to the visit.
With this victory, Deportivo Cali is third in the table with 14 points while Pasto is second to last with four points.
