The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Sports (MEsp), launched this Monday, February 19, a new official service channel to answer questions and provide information about the department’s programs and actions. By calling 61 3686 3279, any citizen can use WhatsApp to contact the agency.
When contacting, the user receives a welcome message, followed by consultation options on policies such as the Bolsa Atleta Program, the Sports Incentive Law (LIE) and Sports Infrastructure, and also the option for Other Information.
LIBRAS Customer Service and Ombudsman options for reports and complaints are also available.
“Today, WhatsApp is proving to be a great communication tool, which brings agility to the way information is transmitted. MEsp has sought this more fluid interaction with athletes and society”, explained the organization’s ombudsman, Aureliano Junior.
The WhatsApp channel also expands service to interested parties who are in any part of the world where the application can be used, which especially benefits athletes who are in other countries training or even competing in competitions.
“When they need some information or need to formalize a report or complaint about an event abroad, our athletes can rely on WhatsApp, which is much faster. The 0800 number only works for those in Brazil”, reiterated Aureliano.
Launched in November 2023, the Dial Esporte service on 0800 942 9100 was the initial step towards providing direct communication channels for athletes, sports managers and society in general with MEsp.
With WhatsApp, in addition to 61 3686 3279, MEsp can initiate communications by dialing 61 3686-3278.
