Diary from Kabul by Alberto Cairo. Malang’s tears like Uncle Nando’s

ACCEPTANCE – Malang is about 60 years old and has many children. He is of Pashtun ethnicity. He has worked with us in the past, we have kept in touch. When I met him three days ago, he explained to me, a little known, the differences between the country now and in ’96, the year of the first capture of Kabul by the Taliban. I like the way he talks, with pauses and sweeping gestures: he would have been a good teacher, I think.
