Jakarta (ANTARA) – Borussia Dortmund came back from one goal behind to win 3-1 over guests Eintracht Frankfurt, in the German League match at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, local Sunday or Monday morning WIB.
The victory brought Dortmund up to fourth place in the German League standings with 50 points. Meanwhile, Frankfurt is stuck in sixth position with 40 points, according to the official German League page.
Dortmund fielded the duo Julian Brandt and Marco Reus in their midfield as an indication that they would appear attacking. However, even though they were under pressure from the start, it was Frankfurt who opened the scoring first in the 13th minute. Omar Marmoush managed to outwit Nico Schlotterbeck and then fired a shot which was blocked by Alex Meyer, but Mario Goetze was in the right place to tap the rebound into his former club’s goal.
The hosts had a chance to equalise, when Niclas Fullkrug’s header was cleared before crossing the goal line by Willian Pacho. After that, Donyell Malen’s speculative kick was easily caught by goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.
Dortmund only managed to equalize in the 33rd minute. Karim Adeyemi easily grabbed the ball into Trapp’s goal and recorded his second goal in the league this season. The score remained 1-1 until halftime.
Eric Ebimbe had the first chance in the second half, when his shot from a tight angle was blocked by Dortmund goalkeeper Meyer. On the other hand, Marco Reus failed to maximize his header from Reus’ corner kick, before Ebimbe thwarted Adeyemi’s chance.
In the final phase of the match, precisely in the 81st minute, Hummels met Julian Brandy’s cross with a header while dropping his body to give Dortmund a 2-1 lead. Dortmund’s victory became more complete after Emre Can’s penalty in the 93rd minute resulted in their third and final goal.
