Dortmund: Oliver Pocher testifies in court – lawyer annoyed! “No questions”

In front of the public, “Fat Comedy” gave Oliver Pocher a hard slap in the face during a boxing match in March 2022. A video of it went viral. Around two years later, the trial took place in Dortmund on Friday (March 15). Pocher testified in court – and he clashed with Fat Comedy’s lawyer several times.

Fat Comedy apologized to Oliver Pocher for his actions. “I’m sorry about the whole thing. It was a huge mistake,” he emphasized before the Dortmund district court. The influencer got away with a fine.

“Madam Chairman, I just found that very irrelevant”

Pocher also had his say in court: “I was sitting there and then the blow came practically out of nowhere.” And further: “I didn’t even know what was going on. “I had already recognized a certain level of threat,” he said, among other things (we reported). During his 20-minute interrogation, Pocher repeatedly clashed with Burkhard Benecken. Benecken, a lawyer from Marl (NRW), represented Fat Comedy in the process.

At the beginning of his statement, the judge wanted to know from Pocher whether he was related to the defendant or related by marriage. “Luckily not,” was his answer. Benecken found the reaction anything but appropriate. “Mrs. Chairwoman, I just found that very irrelevant,” he made clear.

There were also minor frictions during the interrogation. Benecken wanted to know from Pocher during which break in the boxing match he received the punch. But the comedian wasn’t entirely sure: “Does it make a difference in which round I was beaten?” Pocher wanted to know. “I ask questions. I want the answer from you,” was the lawyer’s clear statement.

“I can also ask a question,” replied Pocher. “No not here. Here you are a witness, here you don’t ask any questions. At least not to me.” Pocher: “Well, if that’s the case.” Even after careful consideration, Pocher was no longer able to say exactly whether the attack ultimately happened in the fourth or fifth round. “But does that make a huge difference? Apparently.”

Pocher drove straight home after a slap in the face

Pocher didn’t let up: “If this is the most important thing here, whether it’s the fourth or fifth [Runde] was…” Benecken was annoyed by the TV star’s behavior. “Now he’s evaluating my question.”

The lawyer continued to want to know why Pocher drove straight home and didn’t go to an emergency room. Pocher justified this with his state of shock. In addition, as a celebrity, he doesn’t want to go to an emergency room on a Saturday night. “Great, great,” said Pocher, annoyed at the lawyer’s prodding. “You don’t need to comment on my questions,” he replied. “But I will.”

No fines for pochers

“Then I would ask the chairwoman to immediately threaten a fine.” Pocher’s short reaction to this: “Oh yes.”

More topics and news:

“Because I’m starting to find the witness’ behavior here a bit rude. I don’t see my questions being commented on here. I don’t have to put up with that.” There was no fine for Pocher. However, Fat Comedy has to pay 120 daily rates of 15 euros each for intentional bodily harm.
