Persik Kediri held by PSS Sleman 4-4 in a fierce duel in Week 33 of Liga 1 2023/2024 at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Wednesday (24/4).
PSS gave Persik a surprise with a quick 1-0 lead in the seventh minute through Jonathan Bustos’ free kick.
Persik equalized the score at 1-1 in the 19th minute through Flavio Silva’s penalty kick. The penalty was awarded to the hosts after goalkeeper M Ridwan tripped Supriyadi.

PSS defender Thales also got his name on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute which put the visitors back ahead 2-1 thanks to Bustos’ assist.
Buston was again the actor in the Javanese Super Eagle goal in the 28th minute through Esteban Vizcarra’s goal. PSS leads 3-1.
Ridwan made the same mistake before halftime. Ridwa made another violation against Supriyadi. Second penalty for Persik in the 38th minute.
Flavio Silva can beat Ridwa for the second time. The White Tigers reduced the deficit to 2-3 in the 40th minute.
Unfortunately for PSS, when they were under pressure from the hosts, Leonard Tupamahu and his friends had to play with 10 people after Bustos received a red card in the 48th minute after receiving a second yellow card.
Superior in number of players, Persik continued to attack PSS. Flavio Silva scored a hat trick after his penalty kick in the 60th minute.
Ze Valente’s left footed shot from outside the penalty box in the 69th minute did not go towards the opponent’s goal.
PSS threatened to counter, but Wahyudi Hamisi’s right-footed shot from Kamsoba’s pass in the 70th minute narrowly deviated from Persik’s goal.
In the 74th minute there was chaos in the PSS penalty box. Faris Aditama’s shot was blocked by Ridwan, but the rebound from Renan Silva’s left foot shot went narrowly to the right side of the opponent’s goal.
Persik went ahead 4-3 in the 84th minute thanks to Faris Aditama’s header which maximized Ze Valente’s cross.
Playing with 10 people did not weaken PSS’ motivation. PSS equalized with Jihad Ayoub’s free kick from outside the penalty box in the 89th minute. Ayoub’s right-footed free kick to the bottom left side of the opponent’s goal could not be thwarted by goalkeeper Dikri Yusron.
Without additional goals in the remaining match, Persik was held back by PSS dramatically 4-4.
