Atalanta managed to beat Fiorentina 4-1 in the second leg of the semifinals Italian Cup. La Dea also went to the final to meet Juventus.
Atalanta vs Fiorentina was presented in the second leg of the semifinals at the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia Stadium, Thursday (25/4/2024) early morning WIB. The hosts, who lost 0-1 in the first leg, tried to step on the gas at the start.
As a result, Atalanta got a goal in the eighth minute. Teun Koopmeiners got his name on the scoreboard to give Atalanta a 1-0 lead and change the aggregate to 1-1.

Atalanta looked more confident after the goal. Fiorentina had to struggle to stem the onslaught of Gian Piero Gasperini’s troops.
Despite creating several opportunities, Atalanta failed to add goals in the first half. The 1-0 score remained for Atalanta until halftime.
Fiorentina experienced bad luck in the second half, precisely in the 53rd minute. Nikola Milenkovic was given a straight red card after bringing down Gianluca Scamacca who had the potential to score a goal.
Atalanta failed to utilize the superior number of players well. Fiorentina were even able to equalize the score at 1-1 through Lucas Martinez, who made the aggregate 2-1 for the visitors.
Atalanta regained the lead 2-1 in the 75th minute. Scamacca tore through Fiorentina’s goal to make it 2-2 on aggregate.
The drama occurred in injury time. Ademola Lookman found the back of the Fiorentina goal, but the linesman ruled it out because it was considered offside.
VAR then takes the role of reviewing. As a result, referee Federico La Penna decided the goal was valid and Atalanta led 3-1 to change the aggregate to 3-2.
Atalanta killed the match in the final seconds through Mario Pasalic. This goal made the match finished 4-1 and Atalanta advanced to the final with a 4-2 aggregate to meet Juventus.
