Crown Princess Catherine announced in a video message on March 22 (local time) that she had been diagnosed with cancer. “I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the heartwarming messages of support and understanding you have shown me while I have been recovering from surgery. It was an incredibly difficult day, but I was blessed with a wonderful medical team and was able to receive the best treatment. I am truly grateful,” he said, before revealing:
“I had major abdominal surgery in London in January, but at that time my condition was not thought to be cancerous. The surgery was successful, but post-operative tests revealed cancer. My medical team advised me to undergo preventive chemotherapy, and I am currently in the early stages of treatment.”
“Obviously it was a huge shock and William and I have done everything we can to help our young family privately,” she continued. “As you can imagine, this has taken some time. It took me some time to recover from major surgery, but most importantly it took me a while to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in the proper way and reassure them that I was okay. ”, asking for understanding for his decision to prioritize his three children. “Like I told them, I’m fine and I’m getting stronger every day by focusing on healing my mind, body and spirit.”
“Having William by my side is also a source of great comfort and reassurance, as well as the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you. It means so much to both of us. We hope you understand that as a family, we need time, space, and privacy right now while we finish our journey.”
