MOSCA – There will be no surprises at the early presidential elections held today in Uzbekistan, the former Soviet republic without a blockade on the sea which, with 35 million inhabitants, is the most populous of the countries of Central Asia.
With three symbolic rivals, the outgoing president Shavkat Mirziyoyev65 years old, is destined for certain victory and will be able to virtually remain in office until 2037.
