A powerful earthquake, measuring 7.6, was registered off the eastern coast of Indonesia, triggering a tsunami warning. According to local authorities, the epicenter was recorded 148 km northeast of Tenggara Barat district, at an underwater depth of 131 km. This was announced by the US Geophysical Institute USGS.
A tsunami warning has been issued for the province of Maluku and the neighboring province of Sulawesi.
