Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador, a small state in Central America, wrote in a tweet that “according to our numbers” (the official results have not yet been released) he was re-elected with “more than 85 percent” of the votes votes in Sunday’s elections, and that his party, Nuevas Ideas (conservative) won at least 58 of the 60 seats in parliament.
His re-election was taken for granted, given his enormous popularity. In fact, Bukele was able to effectively counteract, albeit with criticized and often radical methods, the violence of criminal gangs, which a few years ago had made El Salvador the country with the highest murder rate in Latin America.

According to our numbers, we have won the presidential election with more than 85% of the votes and a minimum of 58 of 60 deputies in the Assembly.
The record in the entire democratic history of the world.
See you at 9pm in front of the National Palace.
God bless El Salvador.
