On the leap year 28 years ago, Erna Solberg (63) and Sindre Finnes (59) got married.
On that occasion, former Prime Minister Solberg has taken to Instagram to mark the wedding day on Thursday 29 February.
“Today is 28 years since we got married. But only our 7th wedding anniversary. 28 years with many good days and some difficult ones. That’s life and cohabitation,” she writes in the post.
At the time of writing, the post has received over 2,000 likes, and in the comments section there are several congratulations to the couple.
Difficult year
The couple has had a challenging year, after it became known last autumn that the latter had carried out over 3,600 share transactions during the period his wife was prime minister.
Solberg herself presented the list of her husband’s stock trades from 2013 to 2021, and at a press conference she did not hide that the list showed that Finnes had not been honest with her.

– It is a serious breach of trust. A breach of trust that is difficult in my family and in a marriage, the Conservative leader herself has stated about her husband’s share trading behind her back.
Last November, however, she was clear that the breach of trust will not break up their long marriage.
– I am still married to Sindre Finnes and have plans to continue being married to Sindre Finnes. This has been a difficult matter for us, but we have been married for a long time. There are some values you have to keep in mind, and I still have them, she said then.
In retrospect, it has also become known that Finnes has used the title of civil economist without completing the degree.
28 years of marriage
Solberg and Finnes met in Bergen during their studies, and married secretly in Paris in 1996.
Together they have two children, Ingrid and Erik.
Finnes has previously told to VG that he fell for Solberg’s kindness, and that Solberg took good care of him as a new student in Bergen. In addition, he appreciated several things about his girlfriend.
