Eruption in Iceland: lava invades the streets

So far, the defensive barriers protecting the city of Grindavik are holding up

(LaPresse) The lava erupted from the volcano on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland has invaded the nearby streets. From what we learn, the activity of the crater is losing intensity and the defensive barriers erected to protect the city of Grindavik, already evacuated in December, appear to be holding up. The volcano erupted last Saturday for the fourth time in three months, sending jets of orange lava into the night sky. Hundreds of people have been evacuated from the Blue Lagoon spa, one of Iceland’s main tourist attractions.
