Sitting and working in an office for eight hours can affect your health, and the spine and back suffer the most. Expert Annabelle Smith says the straight tour is very common due to sedentary lifestyles, with many workers sitting for up to 9 hours straight, some even more.
“The combination of an inactive life outside of work or specific glute training, often combined with a poor diet, will cause even the best rear end to suffer,” Smith told the Mirror.
However, a flat “office background” isn’t just an aesthetic problem. According to experts, it can lead to more dangerous conditions including “dead butt syndrome.” Healthline claims the condition results from the gluteal muscles essentially “forgetting” their main purpose, which is to support the pelvis and keep your body in the correct position. The syndrome can lead to stiffness not only in the glutes, but also in other parts of the body, causing chronic pain.
“Build muscle, keep your body fat at a reasonable level and stay active,” advises Annabelle.
Other experts advise squats, lunges and other exercises to strengthen the glutes and building your butt.
“Start by putting a resistance band around your ankles and placing your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart. Continue to take small steps forward at a slow pace. You should feel a tingling sensation and activation in the outer gluteal muscles,” said an expert from a British fitness company. .
