«We must tackle the effects of the food crisis caused by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in the most vulnerable areas of the Mediterranean as soon as possible. Because if today the problem is rising food costs, the drama of 2023 could be the shortage. In more fragile countries, especially in Africa, already hit by drought and climate change, the blocking of Russian and Belarusian fertilizers could lead to a drastic drop in production, with the risk of starving entire populations ”.
