LONDON – Does Cardiff city council “cancel” Guglielmo Marconi? It seems very likely, as the plans for a sculpture in his honor off the Welsh capital were suddenly frozen. Reason: the fascist past of the legendary Italian scientist, Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909 and considered the “father of radio” in the world.
Born in Bologna in 1874, Marconi moved to the United Kingdom at the end of the 19th century to continue his studies, which were then poorly funded in Italy.
