Skoda Presents at Gran Turismo 7 with the Vision Gran Turismo Electric Concept Car

JAKARTA – Skoda is the latest automotive manufacturer to enliven its lineup of Vision Gran Turismo concept cars. They are following in the footsteps of established brands such as Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, and most recently Genesis with the X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo.

This is the first time Skoda has appeared in Gran Turismo 7. This electric racing car highlights Skoda’s commitment to reaching new consumer targets, especially gamers and virtual automotive enthusiasts.

Gahar Performance with Power Equivalent to a Monster

Launch CarBuzz, April 26, Skoda Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) is powered by four electric motors that produce 1,071 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. Even though it’s not as fierce as the Rimac Nevera, these numbers are still fantastic. All power is channeled to all four wheels via a single-speed transmission.

There are no official records regarding acceleration, but the VGT’s light weight of only 2,866 lbs (including the 87 kWh battery) promises a powerful jolt. Coupled with independent pushrod suspension at the front and rear (similar to a Formula E car) and an active aerodynamics system, the VGT is predicted to be agile and fun to drive in the game. Skoda claims the VGT AWD system is able to actively regulate torque distribution between the wheels to improve cornering ability.

Design Blends Past and Future

This Czech manufacturer took inspiration from the past for the VGT design. A touch of the classic 1100 OHC Spider 1957 racing car can be seen in the use of a separate rear wing. Traces of the Speedster’s sleek body are also visible on this electric hypercar.

However, VGT also displays an aura of the future. Skoda is using the ‘Modern Solid’ design language which will be applied to Skoda’s upcoming electric cars. Touches of the Skoda Vision GT concept can also be seen vaguely on the VGT.

The T-shaped headlights are an interesting detail, but it’s the rear of the car that really steals the attention. The open fascia and split taillights are dramatically styled, reminiscent of classic 20th century race cars. Skoda further enhances its appearance with the matte Explorer Green color.

This color choice was adopted from the Vision 7S concept car, but players can also choose a classic livery inspired by the Skoda 130 RS rally car.
