When Fast & Furious 10 was being promoted, Vin Diesel, actor and producer of the $7 billion franchise, said that the last chapter of the franchise, which had been planned to be divided into two parts, could end up being made up of three films. These comments were refuted by the film’s director, Louis Leterrier, in August last year in an interview with the Dark Horizons website.
“One thing about Vin is that when he’s at a press conference, he’ll say anything to get out of there. And I’m like him and I say, ‘Yes, of course, we’re going to the moon in the next movie. Goodbye’. And then you never forget! Obviously, the next [filme] is coming, and so, yes, one film at a time. I think one thing Hollywood always reminds us is to take it one step at a time.”

“Maybe what he was saying is that there are 25 years of making films and stories. Three acts, two hours and two films, between the last one and this one, may not be enough to tell the story that is needed, and that is what we are currently discussing,” Leterrier added.
Turning the grand finale into a trilogy is therefore a possibility that is being considered by the team, but nothing has yet been confirmed.
A spin-off instead of a three-part finale
Meanwhile, a spin-off centered on the rivalry between Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) has been announced. Therefore, Fast & Furious 11 will have to focus on the main story of the original saga and pick up where Fast & Furious 10 left off.
In a message published on his Instagram account, Vin Diesel indicated that Fast & Furious 11 will, in fact, be the last episode of the franchise.
“We just finished our weekend meeting with the writers and the entire team… To say that the excitement for our finale was incredibly strong is an understatement. Wow. This is so exciting…” she wrote.
Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that, thanks to you, transcends the screen. This grand finale isn’t just closure; It’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together. I hope to make you proud!
Currently being written, Fast & Furious 11 is set to be, as announced from the beginning, the last film in the lucrative franchise that began in 2001. This is Vin Diesel’s first official statement about the film since a former employee accused him of abuse sexual. In December last year, the actor denied any wrongdoing.
